Mrs. Patsy Ballard Rash, 71, went home to be with her Lord after a 29 ½ years battle with cancer on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Wayne T. Patrick House in Rock Hill, SC.The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Saluda Street Church of God with Rev. Joe Vicars and Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home and other times at the home of Tina And Kliff Guempel, 2605 Quinn Road, Chester, SC.The family would also request that you join them for a time of fellowship and food immediately following the commital at Evergreen Cemetery in the family life center of Saluda Street Church of God. Born September 7, 1942 in Chester, SC Mrs. Rash was a daughter of the late Hugh “Bill” Ballard and Katie Bruce Ballard Faulk.She was a graduate of the schools of Chester County and retired from Belk’s Department Store.Mrs. Rash was a member of the Saluda Street Church of God where she taught Sunday School and children’s church and was an active member of Young At Heart. She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years Wesley M. Rash; two daughters, Darlene R. Steen and her husband Tommy and Tina R. Guempel and her husband Kliff both of Chester; one son, Tim Rash of Chester; four grandchildren, Chase Steen and his wife Chrissy of Rock Hill, SC, Travis Baxley of Spartanburg, SC, Lindsey Steen Smith and her husband Jason of Chester, SC and Larry Guempel and his wife Samantha of Chester; four great-grandchildren, Keely Lynn Orr, Colt Smith, Mason Steen and Maddox Steen; one sister, Donna B. Varnadore of Chester; two step-brothers, Gene Faulk and Carl Faulk and his wife Janie both of Rock Hill and her special friend and caregiver Betty Nichols of Rock Hill.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father Auber Faulk. Patsy loved her family dearly and was so blessed.Her family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Carolina Blood and Care, Dr. Gor and Staff and Dr. Sam Stone and Staff.
