Patricia Pearson “Patsy” McCrorey, 78, died peacefully at home on January 9, 2025, surrounded by family. Married for 56 years, she was the wife of James M. McCrorey, Sr. (Jimmy). Visitation will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 13, 2025 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and funeral services immediately after at 11:00 in the sanctuary. Burial will be at Union ARP Church in Richburg, SC.
Patsy was educated in the Chester County schools where she was a member of the 1963 state championship basketball team. She shares the high school’s single game scoring record of 47 points and was inducted into the Chester High School Hall of Fame. Patsy was a lifelong sports fan, and supported all her grandchildren fiercely in their sporting events. Living all but one year of her life on the same street, Patsy and her husband helped raise more than just their two children. With a heart of gold, they were the aunt and uncle that were always there for a community of children in Robbins Circle. From 1968 to 1996, she was a bookkeeper for Inland Bridge, Inc., Bridgebuilders, Inc and FA Triplett. She worked briefly for Chester County and finished her career as accounts payable clerk for the Chester County School District in 2014.
Patsy was a lifelong Methodist and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
In addition to Jimmy, she is survived by a son, James M. “Matt” McCrorey, Jr. and his wife Ann of Richburg, SC, and a daughter Susan M. Lancaster of Richburg, SC and her finance Brantley E. Lowe. Patsy was blessed with three grandchildren, Garrison and Madison McCrorey, and Josie Lancaster, and one great grandchild, Gemma McCrorey. She is also survived by one sister, Joyce Lee Hunter, and two sisters-in-law, Ann Bargamin, and Mary Westmoreland (Andy).She is pre-deceased by her parents, Donald E. and Porah Grant Pearson, one brother Donald “Buddy” Pearson (Sara), and sisters Donnis P. Fincher (Larry) and Teresa P. Wishert (Joe).
The family would like to thank the personal caregivers Beth Campbell, Cheryl McCrorey, and Teah Wade as well as the Agape nurses Martha Martel, Kelly Floyd, and aide Nicole Levister, Dr. Sam Stone, Carolyn Coleman, Christi Wilburn and Chaplain Bob Martin.
