CHESTER Mrs. Ophelia Gladden Bennett, 84, died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Rock Hill Health Care in Rock Hill, SC. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church in Fairfield County with Rev. John Porter officiating.Interment will be in the church cemetery. Born July 8, 1925 in Fairfield County, SC, Mrs. Bennett was a daughter of Walter C. and Lenora Hornsby Gladden.She attended the schools of Fairfield County and was a homemaker.She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and the widow of Archie Dee Bennett. Surviving are four sons, Alan Bennett and Gene Bennett both of Richburg, SC,Bruce Bennett of Rock Hill, SC and Stanley Bennett of Chester; four daughters, Connie B. Brown and Nancy B. Threatt both of Rock Hill, SC, Susan B. Elkins of Lancaster, SC, Brenda B. Hovis of Waxhaw, NC; twenty-six grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and nineteen great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy B. Pearson, a son Glenn Bennett and a grandson Chad Threatt. The family will receive friends from 7:00 ? 9:00 PM Saturday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC 92706.
