Olin Franklin Roberts

Olin Franklin Roberts, 83, died Thursday, August 5, 2022 at Regency Hospital in Florence, SC. A Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at Chester Memorial Gardens with Reverend Tim Burriss and Reverend Daniel Wightman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Mr. Roberts was born in Chester, SC on October 10, 1938 and was a son of the late Clarence Roberts and Alice Barber Roberts. He attended the schools of Chester County and was a graduate of York Tech. Mr. Roberts was a former member of the South Carolina Army National Guard. Olin is retired from Springs Industries as an HVAC Technician. He was a member of Orr's Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher and former Deacon and a Lay Minister with a passion to introduce all he met to Jesus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Blackwelder Greene and his brother, Walter Blackwelder. Olin is survived by his wife of over sixty-two years, Carolyn Douglas Roberts, three daughters, Alice Kathleen Burriss (Tim) of Sanford, NC, Lynn Spoon (Rick) of Hickory, NC and Peggy Banks (Ace) of Chester, SC; three grandchildren, Sarah Schronce (Adam), Lindsay Barringer (Phillip) and Joel Burriss; two great grandchildren, Delaney and Lottie and several nieces and nephews.
