Odette Darby Lindsay

Chester, SC: Daisy Odette Darby Lindsay, 85, died Friday, August 3, 2012 at Chester Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 4:00 P.M. Monday, August 6, 2012 at Orrs Baptist Church with Reverend Randall Runion and Mr. George Lindsay officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Barron Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Lindsay was born in Chester County, SC on May 6, 1927. She was a daughter of the late Ansily Banks Darby and Catherine Adelshimer Darby. She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Chester County Nursing Center as a CNA and was also employed with J.P. Stevens as a weaving instructor. Mrs. Lindsay was an active member of Orrs Baptist Church and the widow of George H. Lindsay, Sr. She is survived by one daughter, Cathy L. Turner of Chester, SC; three sons, Henry C. Lindsay of Charlotte, N.C., George C. Lindsay and Andy Lindsay both of Chester, S.C.; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one brother, Jack Darby of Chester, SC. Mrs. Lindsay was preceded in death by a grandson James Michael Lindsay. Memorials may be made to Orrs Baptist Church, 1266 Lancaster Road, Chester, SC 29706.
