Chester Mrs. Nena McKinney Wages, 88, died Friday, June 30, 2017 in Columbia, SC.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Barron Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Runion and Rev. Curtis Marshall officiating.The interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Barron Funeral Home. Born March 23, 1929 in Lando, SC, Mrs. Wages was a daughter of the late Palmer P. McKinney and Flora McGarity McKinney and the widow of Henry E. Wages.She was a graduate of Lewisville High School and a homemaker.Mrs. Wages was a member of Orr’s Baptist Church and Lando Baptist Church.She was an avid reader and passed that love for reading on to her family. Mrs. Wages is survived by one son, Ronnie “Woo” Wages (Ann) of Chester, SC; two daughters, Rachel Simpson of Chester, SC, and Donna Polk of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren, Brandi Crawford (Jason), Brandon Polk, Hope Wages and Faith Wages; three great grandchildren, Lee Gibby, Madison Hamilton and Emilee Hamilton; and one sister, Jeanette Elliott of Chester, SC. She was preceded in death by six sisters, Pauline Thomas, Hazel Kessler, Lois Weiss, Helen Brown, Nell Clack, and Fay Whitt; and three brothers, Palmer McKinney, Robert McKinney and Richard McKinney.
