Mr. Nathan Witt, 79, died Thursday, August 1, 2019 at MUSC Chester.Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, August 4, 2019 at First Baptist Church Chester with Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating. Interment will follow at Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Barron Funeral Home. Mr. Witt was born October 22, 1939 in Preston, GA. and was a son of thelate Roy M. Witt and Ellen Britt Witt. He was a graduate of Albany High School in Albany, GA and was a Retired SFC from the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam and Korea. Mr. Witt was a former Commander of theDAV Chapter 19 and former Quarter Master of UFC BST 5930 and also a former volunteer driver for DAV. He is survived by his wife Peggy Wright; one daughter, Mary Ellen Witt of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Roy Witt of Centralia, WA ; one sister, Martha Bacon of Plains, GA; two grandchildren, Michael Lee Witt, Jr of Rincon, GA and Sarelle Love Witt of Atlanta, GA.. Mr. Witt was preceded in death by one son Michael Lee Witt, Sr.; three brother, Franklin, Millard and Larry Witt; three sisters, Cornelia Witt, Susie Rowe and Annie Witt.
