Mrs. Nannette C. Jackson, 92, of Chester passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026, at MUSC Health Chester Nursing Center. A funeral service celebrating her life will be at held 11:00 AM on October 9, 2026, at First Baptist Church, Chester, SC with Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow Chester Memorial Garden.
Nannette was born on February 5, 1934. She was a devoted wife to her late husband James L. Jackson, Sr. and the daughter of the late Grace Barber Darby and Woodrow L. Darby. She graduated from Chester High School and retired from Chester County School District and also worked at Gmart convenience store. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1952 where she was a Sunday School teacher and served on the bereavement committee. She enjoyed her family, church, eating out with friends, reading and playing bridge.
She was a loving mother to Jimmy Jackson (Linda) of Blackstock, SC, Ann Cox (Eddie) of Fernandina Beach, Florida, and Joe Jackson (Patsy) of Simpsonville, SC. She was also a beloved Nannie to Jay Jackson of Blackstock, Kate J. Laws (Scott) of Chester, Brianna C. Simpson (Randy) of Greenville, Nicole Cox of Fernandina Beach, FL, Kimberly W. Carter (Barrett) of Smyrna, GA, Trey Weber of Greenville, and Maura W. Thompson (Chad) of Simpsonville and 8 great grandchildren.
Her love, kindness, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten. She will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her memory will be treasured, her stories will be shared for years to come, and her love will live on through the family she held so dear.
