Mrs. Nancy Carolyn Stephenson Stewart, 73, of Chester, SC, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, August 6, 2026. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Lowrys. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. David Nalley and Rev. Tommy Thurston officiating. Interment will follow at Armenia Cemetery. Born February 18, 1953, in Chester, SC, Mrs. Stewart was a daughter of the late Frank Hope Stephenson and Frances Wilkes Bramlett Stephenson. She was a graduate of Chester High School and attended York Technical College. She retired from Founders Federal Credit Union as a Special Services Representative. She also owned and operated the Sears Catalog Store in Chester with her husband, Mack, and worked at the Learning Bee Daycare alongside her mother and sister. Nancy was the devoted wife of Mack Stewart for 54 years and a loving mother and grandmother. Known affectionately as “Granna,” her greatest joys were her faith and her family. She rarely missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren at ballgames, rodeos, dance recitals, pageants, and school events.Nancy was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Lowrys, where she taught Sunday School, directed children’s programs, led Christmas plays, and shared her love for Christ with generations of children.Nancy loved her community and had a servant’s heart. She co-founded the Lowrys Old Fashion Christmas Parade and spent more than 50 years supporting the North Chester Saddle Club and the family tradition of the North Chester Amateur Rodeo. She supported many community traditions and causes throughout her life, including the St. Jude benefit trail ride, Chester County 4-H Horse Club, Ole Settlers’ Day Thanksgiving celebration, and Rotary Halloween Carnival.Surviving are her husband, Mack Stewart; her son, Charles Eric Stewart and wife Kha; her daughter, Stephanie Stewart Caston and husband Chris; six grandchildren, Quinton Caston, Landon Caston, Evan Caston, Savannah Caston, Charlie Stewart, and Caroline Stewart; her sister, Joyce S. Baker; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.3981
