Nancy Lenora Banks

Blackstock Nancy Lenora Banks, 67, died Monday, December 11, 2023, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Beaver Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 13, at the home of Diane and Jimmy Huey in Blackstock. Born August 21, 1956 in Chester, SC, Nancy was a daughter of the late Robert Sloan Banks and Sarah Elizabeth Gwin Banks. She was a graduate of Chester High School and the Chester Career Center where she received her LPN degree. She retired as an LPN with the Chester Regional Medical Center. Nancy was a life-long member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church in Carlisle, SC where she was assistant piano player. Nancy loved being outdoors working in her garden, with her flowers and in her yard. She also enjoyed raising and caring for beef cattle and her cats which she loved. She is survived by two sisters, Diane Banks Huey (Jimmy) of Blackstock and Margie Banks Atkinson (Roger) of Blythewood; her fiancée, Roger Dale “Jake” Berrier of Linwood, NC; nephews, Mike Huey (Michelle) of Chester, Jamie Ellison (Melanie) of Chester, Hall Atkinson (Wendy) of Chester, Mark Huey (Georgi) of Blackstock, Robert Atkinson (Nikki) of Prosperity and Robbie “Bobo” Huey (Tammy) of Blackstock, a niece, Sarah Beth Clowney (Bill) of Blair; and numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Sloan Banks, Jr. Memorials may be made to Beaver Creek Baptist Church, c/o James Huey, 2953 Ashford Rd., Blackstock, SC 29014.
