Mrs. Dorothy Mae West Price

Mrs. Dorothy Mae West Price died Sunday, June 26, 2022 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating. Interment will follow at Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 29 at Barron Funeral Home. Mrs. Price was born October 17, 1933 in Haywood County, NC and was a daughter of the late Clyde West and Ruby Johnson West. She was a graduate of Chester High School and was retired form Springs Industries as a cafeteria manager. Mrs. Price was a member of First Baptist Church Chester. She is survived by one daughter, Gail Rodgers (John) of Chester, SC; five grandchildren, Kimberly Jones (Jeff) of Lancaster, SC, Tracy Smith (Russell) of Chester, SC, Colene Houston (Ken) of Union, SC, Lisa Compton (Bobby) of Christiansburg, VA and Jonathan Rodgers (Mandy) of Lancaster, SC; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Troy West and Floyd West (Sherrie) both of Waynesville, NC; two sisters, Joyce Swanger (Jay) of Georgia and Marie Morrison of Chester, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy P. Houston; son-in-law Coleman “Gene” Houston ; great-granddaughter Riley Compton; step-mother Ada West; brother, James West and two sisters, Elizabeth West and Janice West.
