Mrs. Barbara Jean Poole Love

Clover, SC Mrs. Barbara Jean Poole Love, 87, died Friday, June 17, 2022, at Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Buzzy Elder officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Mrs. Love was born September 30, 1934 in Cherokee Falls, SC and was a daughter of the late John Robert Poole, Sr. and Mamie Childers Poole. She was a graduate of Chester High School and retired from USDA as a County office assistant. She was a member of Chester ARP Church. Barbara enjoyed cooking. She was known to make good biscuits and oftentimes Rick's friends would stop by to eat biscuits that were left over from the night before. She would also cook fresh ones for them if she knew in advance that they were coming to her house at lunch time. Barbara also enjoyed going to Clemson football games with Bud, her father and her two brothers and their families. She and Bud bought season tickets for a number of years and she would spend all day yelling and spelling C-L-E-M-S-O-N T-I-G-E-RRRR-S! Traveling was another of Barbara's pleasures. When Neil was alive they would go yearly to insurance conventions visiting many places like St. Louis, Atlanta, Williamsburg, Philadelphia and many others. Vacation times with the whole family was also enjoyable and they spent many summertime weeks in Connecticut, New Jersey and Myrtle Beach. However, Barbara's greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and watching them grow into who they are now. Even while living at Carolina Gardens for the past couple of years,she has enjoyed their visits and often showed pictures from her cell phone to the caregivers and whomever else she could find. She was always able to convince people to look at her photos. Barbara is survived by two sons, Gary "Bud" Love (Sue) of Clover and Richard "Rick" Love (Janet) of Waxhaw, NC; four grandchildren, Meagan Shealy (Daniel), Garrison Love (Brooke), Owen Love and Austin Love; three great grandchildren, Samuel Shealy, Jacob Shealy and Georgia Love; and one brother, Charlie Poole of Easley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Neil Love and a brother, John Robert Poole, Jr. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Wayne T.
