Mrs. Miriam Wade Walsh, age 97, formerly of Chester, died early Thursday morning, January 22, 2015, at Bickford of Marietta Senior Living and Memory Care in Marietta, GA. Born near Great Falls, she was the daughter of the late Neal Dye Wade and Claude Wade of Great Falls. She graduated from Great Falls High School and worked for many years as a secretary at the Chester County Education Department.Mrs. Walsh was a long time member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was active in the Adult Fellowship class and the United Methodist Women. She and her husband enjoyed many years of fellowship and trips with the Golden Age Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Robert Ainsley Walsh. Survivors include her son, Marcus Walsh of Blythewood; daughter Mary Walsh Barry (Rick) of Marietta, Georgia; grandson Robert Barry (Lisa), great-grandchildren Blake, Cassie, Amanda and Jase of Glennville, Georgia; granddaughter Ann-Marie Polhemus (Chris) and great-granddaughter Bailey, of Canton, Georgia; and several nephews in the Carolinas. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, January 25, which would have been her 98th birthday, at Bethel United Methodist Church with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
