Mildred Anderson Webb

CHESTER: Mrs. Mildred Cathlene Anderson ?Bud? Webb, 88, died Friday, November 06, 2009 at Chester Regional Nursing Center. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Shaffer and Reverend Bob McCollum officiating. A native of Chester, SC , Mrs. Webb was born April 04, 1921,a daughter of the late William Evan Anderson and Kate Clark Anderson. She was a graduate of Chester High School and was the first female Police Officer for Chester Police Department. Mrs. Webb was a member of First Baptist Church, Lowry?s and a former member of First Baptist Church of Chester where she spent her childhood and most of her adult life. Surviving are three daughters, Linda W. Cronan and her husband Bill of Chester, SC, Meredith W. Ward and her husband Jeff of Murphy, NC, and Karen W. Brown of Pocomoke, MD, one son, Harris Webb of Richlands, NC, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one sister, June A. Cook of Chester, SC. Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by a brother Ray Anderson and two grandchildren, Lentz and Michael McCormick. She was the widow of Ralph Harris Webb, Sr. to whom she was married for over 68 years.
