ANDERSON: Mr. Mickey Bob Gentry, 84, formerly of Chester, SC died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in Rainey Hospice House of the Upstate in Anderson, SC.A memorial service will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Chester Freedom Ministries in Chester, SC with Pastor Bill Stallings officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:30 AM Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Chester Freedom Ministries.The interment will be private. Born September 29, 1930 in Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Gentry was a son of the late John and Vivian Waddell Gentry.He attended the schools of Lockhart, SC and Woodruff, SC and was retired from Springs Industries as a supervisor.Mr. Gentry was a member of Chester Freedom Ministries.He was preceded in death by his wife Edna Vance Gentry and a son John Gentry. He is survived by one son, Michael Gentry and his wife Janet of Anderson, SC; one daughter, Debbie G. Jones of Swainsboro, GA; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Gentry of Woodruff, SC and Adrian Gentry of Simpsonville, SC. The family would like to say a heartfelt “Thank You” to Mickey’s best friend and partner in crime.While your name goes unmentioned your generosity and heartfelt care for our dad does not.Thank you so much for all you have done.
