Chester Mr. Michael Keith Smith, 50, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at his home.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 19, 2011 at New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Lois Helms officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 AM on Friday, August 19, 2011 at New Hope United Methodist Church. Mr. Smith was born August 30, 1960 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Homer Alvin Smith and Betty Gladden Smith.He attended Chester High School, was owner/operator of Smith Logging Co., and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. He is survived by one brother, Stanley Smith and wife Pam of Chester; three nephews, Will Smith, Mitch Smith, and Jim Smith; four nieces, Melissa Roof, Mandy Price, Reba Smith and Angie Cabaniss; and special friends, Carl and Angela Sloan of Clover, SC.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William A.
