Mr. Melvin Wayne Williams, 78, died Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Columbia VA Healthcare. At his request there will be no services.
Mr. Williams was born February 19, 1948 in Chester SC and was the son of the late Melvin Floyd Williams and Mary Connor Williams. He was a graduate of Chester High School and York Tech. He retired from Essex after over 20 years of service. Wayne was an avid Gamecock fan and loved all sports. He enjoyed his morning coffee at Clacks with his friends and his daily ride with his brother Tommy as they discussed world issues. He also enjoyed his buddy and his companion “Mr.B” his faithful and loving yorkie.
He is survived by his brother, Tommy Williams of Chester, his aunt, Frances C. Strait of Chester, SC, and numerous cousins.
