Chester Mr. Melvin Boyd Hatchell, 73, died Monday, September 7, 2020, at his home.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 10, at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Bill Stallings officiating.The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Mr. Hatchell was born June 22, 1947 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Eugene Hatchell and Doris Varnadore Hatchell.He attended the schools of Chester County, SC and was retired from Chester County School District Maintenance Department. He is survived by one daughter, Nita Kimbrell (Randy) of Chester; four grandchildren, Mallory Green (Michael) of Irmo, Kayla Piper (Josh) of Chester, Rayna Kimbrell of Chester and Luke Kimbrell of Chester; three great grandchildren, Kaycen Faulkenberry of Chester and Caroline and Hazel Kate Green of Irmo; one brother, Marion Hatchell of Mesa, Arizona; two sisters Patsy Young of Chester and Becky Wickham of Pikeville, TN; two stepsisters, Cathy Hatchell of Winchester, VA and Vicki Rohde of Cary, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.Mr. Hatchell was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Ashley Hatchell and a brother, Gene Hatchell.
