Chester, SC: Lauren McKenzie Mathias, 12, died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.A funeral service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday June 1, 2011 at Saluda Street Church of God with Reverend Jimmie Cox, Reverend Gerald Funderburk and Reverend John Porter officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Saluda Street Church of God. Interment will be held in Chester Memorial Gardens. Mckenzie was born in Rock Hill, SC on January 15, 1999, a daughter of John and Regina Mathias. She was a rising seventh grader at Lewisville Middle School where she was a member of the Roaring Readers and participated in the Class Representative Pageant. McKenzie was a member of Saluda Street Church of God where she was a part of the youth group and attended Shabbach. She is survived by her parents, John and Regina Mathias; three sisters, Samantha Mathias,Paige Mathias and Anna-Taylor Mathias all of Chester, SC; paternal grandparents, Carolyn and Floyd Smith of Great Falls, SC; maternal Grandparents, Jimmy and Diane Brunet of Chester, SC; paternal Great-grand parent, Ophelia Robson of Columbia, SC, several aunts and uncles and cousins and second parents, Ron and Terri Stephenson and family,Amanda and Christa Stephenson.Mckenzie was preceded in death by great-grand parents, Marshall Padgett, Victor and Janie Mae Brunet and Audrey and Coolidge Robbins.
