Maybelle H. Lindsey CHESTER:Mrs. Maybelle Hardin Lindsey, 85, formerly of Fourth Street, died Monday December 8, 2008 at Chester Regional Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Saluda Street Church of God with Rev. Gerald Funderburk and Rev. Steve Bishop officiating.Interment will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill. Mrs. Lindsey was born April 24, 1923 in Andrew, NC, a daughter of the late Charles Henry and Ida Menurva Woods Hardin.She attended the schools of York County and was a seamstress at the Hub Clothing Store in Chester.As a faithful member of Saluda Street Church of God, Mrs. Lindsey served as secretary-treasurer of the Ladies Ministry for 30 years. Surviving are her husband, Homer D. Lindsey, Sr.; sons, Billy and Alton Ramsey of Rock Hill, Kenneth Ramsey of Smyrna, SC, and Homer Dean Lindsey, Jr. of Chester; daughters, Shirley Roberts and Elaine McKeown of Chester and Patricia Jennings of Newport News, VA; and 20 grandchildren.She was preceded in death by two sons, Larry and Bobby Ramsey. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester.
