Maxie Thurmond Hargrove

Chester Mr. Maxie Thurmond Hargove, 76, died Monday, September 28, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family and friends.A memorial servicewill be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Woodward Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Hinson officiating.Interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Thursday at Woodward Baptist Church. Mr. Hargrove was born July 15, 1939 in Rock Hill, SC and was a son of the late Boyd Hargrove and Marie Ernandez Hargrove.He was a graduate of Lewisville High School and a member of the SC Air National Guard, Richburg Masonic Lodge and Hejaz Shrine Temple.Mr. Hargrove was a member of Woodward Baptist Church.Maxie loved his family and his church family. He is survived by his wife of over five years, Sheila Wright Hargrove; three step children, Scott Stowe of Rock Hill, Seth Stowe (Sharon) of Edgemoor, and Sally S. Stanley of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren, Beth Stowe Hinson (Matthew) of Lancaster, Sara Ashley Stowe of Rock Hill, Seth Stowe, Jr. of Edgemoor, Shaylee Stowe of Edgemoor, Mallory Stanley, Savannah Stanley and Malia Stanley all of Rock Hill; one great grandchild, Skyler Seth Hinson of Lancaster; and one brother, Bobby Hargrove (Ann) of Rock Hill.Mr. Hargrove was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Hargrove and a sister-in-law, Julia Reinhardt Hargrove.
