Maude Ruth Clark Cranford

Maude Ruth Clark Cranford, 98, died Monday May 15, 2023 at her home. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 18, 2023 at First Baptist Church, Chester with Reverend Clay Waldrip officiating. The family will receive friends also Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be held in Chester Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Cranford was born December 1, 1924 in Chester County, SC and was a daughter of the late Dan C. Clark and Lula Gregory Clark. She was a graduate of Chester High School and was retired from Springs Industries after over forty years of service. She has been a member of First Baptist Church for over sixty-seven years and was a choir member, taught children's Sunday School and was a Vacation Bible School teacher. Maude Ruth served on the Bereavement Committee which she and her husband ,Del ,founded. She was also a part of the Kid's Club after school program. Mrs. Cranford was also active in the Springs Senior Group, "Springtimers" as well as the Senior Olympics for many years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over sixty-two years, Delton Judson Cranford. She is survived by two sons; Roger D. Cranford (Michelle) of West Jefferson, NC and Michael Cranford (Martha) of Fuquay-Varina, NC; one grandson, Reed J. Cannon of Columbia, SC and one sister, Dean Largo of Portland, OR. Te family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Team Ruth's Caregivers, Robin Moore, Barbara Campbell, Bernice Sullivan and Madison Queen.
