Chester, SC: Mattie Lee Chapman Oliver, 94, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at her home. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, April 16, 2012 at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend Bob McCollum officiating. Interment will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chapin, SC. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Barron Funeral Home. Mrs. Oliver was born December 29, 1917 in Little Mountain, SC. She was a daughter of the late James Killian Chapman and Cora Belle Stoudimire Chapman. She was a graduate of Little Mountain High School and Farrahs? Beauty College. Mrs. Oliver was retired from Rachel?s Beauty Shop in Chester, SC and was a member of St. Paul?s Presbyterian Church and a former charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She wa the widow of Harold H. Oliver. She is survived by two sons, Homer L. Oliver and his wife Carolyn; Carroll L. Oliver and his wife Sandy; two daughters, Sherry B. Hill and her husband Billy and Doris J. Oliver and a foster daughter, Louise Young, all of Chester, SC; seven grandchildren, Lee Oliver, Bill Oliver, Becky Canupp, Jan Oliver, Jo Oliver, Travis Hill and Eric Hill, nine great-grandchildren, Skylar Simmers, Rhyna Simmers, Chase Simmers, Carmella Oliver, McKayden Oliver, Andrew Bailey, Ally Bailey, Beth Proctor andJames Tate Oliver; two sisters Ruth Lee of Newberry, SC and Dorothy Chapman of Chapin, SC.Mrs. Oliver waspreceded in death by one sister, Georgia Mae Kohn and one brother, John Henry Chapman.
