Matthew Jackson Bost

Mr. Matthew Jackson Bost, 89, died Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Rock Hill Acute Care Center. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 10:00 AM Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. 

Mr. Bost was born June 12, 1937 in Chester, SC and was the son of the late Allen Monroe Bost Sr. and Terri Linker Bost. He was a graduate of Chester Senior High School and retired from Hoechst-Celanese Corporation in Rock Hill after 20 years of service. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force and SC Army National Guard. He attended Embers Church in Chester, SC. 

He is survived by one son Wayne Allen Bost of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Anna Bost Stroud (Maxie) of Chester, SC; three grandchildren, Matthew Stroud (Christine), Jacob Stroud (Brooklyn) and Daniel Sharpe (Jessica) all of Columbia, SC and several great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lidia Darlene Bost; brother, Allen Monroe Bost, Jr and is sister, Douglas Bost.
