Mrs. Mary Frances ?Frankie? Roddey Woodward, 89, went home to be with her God on August 27, 2009, after an extended illness. The funeral will be 3:00 PM Sunday, August 30, at Barron Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronnie Greene and Rev. Donald Scoggins.Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late W.H. Roddey, Sr. and Rosa C. Roddey of Chester.Frankie was a faithful active member of Purity Presbyterian Church for over sixty years. Many of those years were spent in the nursery and also greeting new members by phone calls, cards and conversations. A graduate of Sharon High School, Frankie was married to the late Robert E. ?Bobby? Woodward, Jr., for more than fifty years. She is survived by a daughter, Dianne W. Norton and her husband Bobby of Chester; a beloved granddaughter, Teresa Lee Williford and her husband Russell of Chester and two beloved great granddaughters, Rosemary and Breanna both of Chester; one sister, Ruth Worthy of Rock Hill. The family would like to thank all of her many caregivers at Chester Regional Nursing Center, Dr. Sam Stone, her personal sitter Easter ?May May? Elam, devoted cousin Albertia Bundy, and special friends, Alice Ervin and Maria Worthy. The Hospice family led by Jan Byars, did an incredible job of being there for us in all ways.God used all of these workers and friends in a wonderful way to spread more of His Love on this earth.Frankie loved each of you. The family will receive friends from 2:00 ? 3:00 PM Sunday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester and other times at 121 Foote Street, Chester.
