Chester Mrs. Mary Barnes McCorkle died Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Roof officiating.Interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. McCorkle was born in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late William Wylie Barnes and Bertha Bennett Barnes.She was a graduate of Chester High School and was retired from Springs Industries.Mrs. McCorkle was a member of St. Pauls Presbyterian Church and attended Together As One.Mary was extremely family oriented and she had a talent for finding good in everyone. She is survived by her husband of over 39 years, Reginal R. McCorkle; two children, Bonnie Going (Walt) and Robert McCorkle (Nancy) both of Chester; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and three nephews, Ross Bell (Leigh) of York, Thomas Bell (Becky) of Chester and Ted Barnes of Chester.Mrs. McCorkle was preceded in death by a son, John Thomas McCorkle; a twin sister, Marion Bell; and a brother, Wylie Barnes.
