Mary Sloan Mcgavran Martin

Chester Mrs. Mary Sloan McGavran Martin, 61, died Saturday, December 9, 2023, at MUSC Health Chester Nursing Center. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Lando Cemetery with Pastor Andrew Flippo and Pastor Ed Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside prior to the service from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Born May 10, 1962 in Charleston, WV, she was a daughter of the late Edward McGavran and Ruby Fortner McGavran. Mary completed her high school education in Cabarrus County, NC and went on to receive her BS Degree in Accounting. Mary was a homemaker. She enjoyed needlepoint and crafting. She loved animals and spending time with her family. Mary was a member of Lando Church of God. She is survived by her husband of over 25 years, Faron J. Martin; a son, Brandon Martin (Paige) of York, SC; and a brother, Ted McGavran (Melanie) of Belmont, NC. Memorials may be made to Lando Church of God, P.O. Box 135, Lando, SC 29712.
