Mary Elizabeth Ray Hollifield

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Ray Hollifield, 92, died Monday June 12, 2023. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Monday June 19, 2023 at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill, SC with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. Mrs. Hollifield was born December 13, 1930 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late Benjamin Bailey Ray and Grace Mobley Ray. She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries as a weaver. Mrs. Hollifield was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her three children, Lorraine Gieseke (Earl) of Brackettville, TX, George Thomas Greene (Jolynn) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Charlie Deaver Greene (Judy) of Rock Hill, SC; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Ray “Teeny” Ray (Karen) of Chester, SC; she was preceded in death by her husband of over 37 years, George T. Green and her husband W.L. Hollifield; one brother, Tommy Ray and one sister, Ruby Wright. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, C/O Christy Wilburn, 587 Lakenglen Rd, Chester, SC 29706.
