Mary Ellen Montgomery Hall

Mrs. Mary Ellen Montgomery Hall, 85, died Saturday, December 2, 2023, at MUSC Chester Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jason Myers officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Mrs. Hall was born October 16, 1938 in Winnsboro, SC and was a daughter of the late Samuel Leroy Montgomery and Minnie Lee Stevenson Montgomery. She was a graduate of Mt. Zion High School in Winnsboro, SC and Winthrop College. She was a retired elementary school teacher with Chester County School District having taught in Chester and Great Falls. Mrs. Hall was a member of Purity Presbyterian Church and a former member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School. She was actively involved with activities of both churches. She is survived by her husband of over 69 ½ years, Marvin Rudolph “Rudy” Hall; one brother, Leroy Irvin “Bubba” Montgomery (Judi); two nephews, Lee Montgomery (Becky) of Great Falls and Will Montgomery (Caroline) of Winnsboro; a great niece, Alexis Montgomery; and a great nephew, Justin Montgomery.
