Marvin Thomas Odom

Marvin Thomas Odom, 56, died Friday, January 31, 2025, at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia.  A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Woodward Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Hinson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM Wednesday at the church.  Interment will be private.

Born August 23, 1968 in Jacksonville, Florida, Marvin was a son of the late Jessie Thomas Odom and Bertha Hullett Odom.  Marvin was a graduate of Chester Christian School. He retired as a Lt. Firefighter with the City of Chester.  Marvin was a member of Woodward Baptist Church where he worked with the RAs.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors.

He is survived by one daughter, Casey McCutcheon (Jonathan) of Chester and two granddaughters, Paisley Grace Ellis and Nora Jade McCutcheon both of Chester.

Marvin would like all to know that in addition to his biological family, he considered his fellow firefighters as his extended family.
