Martha Mae Woods "Snooky" Mcwatters

CHARLOTTE, NC: Mrs. Martha Mae Woods "Snooky" McWatters, 72, died Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.A memorial service will be held 2:00 Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Brian Howard and Rev. Curtis Marshall officiating.The interment will be private.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at First Church of the Nazarene. Born April 24, 1944 in Chester, SC, Mrs. McWatters was the daughter of the late Perry and Virginia Porter Woods.She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from the Mecklenburg County School System.Mrs. McWatters was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.Martha lived for gardening.She enjoyed tending and caring for her many flowers and she also found contentment in cooking and caring for her family. She is survived by her husband of over fifty-two years, Gene McWatters; three children, Kem McWatters and his wife Susan of Fort Lawn, SC, Jennifer Reavis and her husband Andy of Lake Wylie, SC and Brian McWatters and his wife Tonya of Fort Lawn, SC; two grandchildren, Casey Reavis of Lake Wylie, SC and Owen McWatters of Fort Lawn, SC.She was preceded in death by a son, Darren McWatters. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
