Martha Allen Bagley Broome

Edgemoor Mrs. Martha Allen Bagley Broome, 90, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Chester Regional Nursing Center.The funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Woody Oliver and Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, in the sanctuary of the church. Mrs. Broome was born May 19, 1922 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late Carl Allen and Annie Franklin Allen.She was a graduate of Fort Lawn High School and attended Winthrop College.She was retired as cafeteria manager of Lewisville High School and was formerly employed as a nursing assistant with Chester Nursing Center.Mrs. Broome was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Angela Ford and husband Jimmy of Chester and Barbara Jackson of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren, Jason Clinton, Joni Helms, Josh Ford, Liza Mobley, Garrett Adkins, Scotty Privette, Jamie Privette, and Jonathan Gainer; eight great-grandchildren, Makayla, Christopher, Caleb, Hadley, Jackson, Katelyn, Presley, and Kamdyn; two sisters, Dorothy Paquin of Edgemoor and Elizabeth Gaston of Richburg; and a special friend, whom she loved as a son, James Harris of Richburg.Mrs. Broome was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Broom and a son, Russ Bagley.
