Chester, SC:Martha Bailey Brakefield, 91, widow of Robert "Bob" Brakefield, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Chester Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Harry Gindhart officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 14 at Barron Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Interment will be held in Armenia United Methodist Church Cemetery.Mrs. Brakefield was born in Chester County, SC on May 21, 1920. She was a daughter of the late Milton and Mary Elizabeth (Grant) Bailey. She attended the schools of Chester County, was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was retired from Springs Industries as a sewing machine operator. Mrs. Brakefield is survived by her brother, Malcolm Bailey and his wife Clarice and one sister Myrtle Bailey all of Chester, SC and several nieces and nephews.
