ROCK HILL?. Marlin W. Derrick, 82, of 1786 India Hook Road, formely of 787 Great Falls Hwy, Chester, SC, died Monday, January 11, 2010, at Piedmont Medical Center. The funeral will be 2:00PM Thursday, January 14, 2010, at Chester Church of Christ with Rev. Bill Carter officiating. Interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. Mr. Derrick was born March 1, 1927, in Evergreen, Texas, a son of the late Martin W. Sr. and Rhoda Trapp Derrick Lewis. He was retired from the U.S. Navy after serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was an active member of Chester Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife Doris M. Derrick, two sons Dale Derrick and wife Paula of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kenneth Derrick and wife Judy of Dodson, Texas, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren,one sister Dorothy Gary and husband Oris of Woodville, Texas, one brother Archie Derrick and wife Sherry of Houston, Texas.
