CHESTER, SC: Mrs. Marjorie “Margie” Youngblood Banks passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at the age of 86.She is the widow of Wallace H. “Doc” Banks, and is survived by her five children: Micki Dorsey Whitler (Kenneth) of Lexington, SC; Donald Max Dorsey (Sandra), Wallace H. “Ace” Banks, Jr.(Peggy), William Mark Banks, and Marjorie Lynn Banks, all of Chester, SC; and six grandchildren: D. Max Dorsey, II (Amy), Jennifer D. Shannon (Clay), Alex H. Dorsey, all of Chester, SC; C. Andrew Dorsey of New York City, NY, Lauren Whitler Orris of Lexington, SC, and Kensley W. Gonzales (Chris) of Phoenix, AZ; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Arnice Y. McWatters of Chester, SC; one sister-law, Betty McWatters Younblood of Chester, SC and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Nora Elliott Shannon, four brothers and three sisters. “Margie” was born on June 5, 1928, at the Springsteen Mill Village in Chester, South Carolina, to J.A. and Edna Wint Youngblood.She attended Chester County Schools, and was employed by Springs Industries and Chester County Hospital.She was an accomplished cook who enjoyed preparing delicious meals for family and friends, and won 1st prize at the South Carolina State Fair for her famous “stickies” in 1996.Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy – always loving an opportunity to tellthem a story about her family and growing up in Chester.She was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church of Chester, SC. A worship service to give glory to God and celebrate her life will be held 4:00 PMSaturday, April 4, 2015 at Trinity Presbyterian Church (PCA) with Rev. Rick Wheeler officiating. The interment will be at Beaver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM Saturday, April 4, 2015 in the sanctuary of the church and other times at the home of Max and Sandra Dorsey, 2653 Aaron Burr Road in Chester, SC.
