Mrs. Margie Annette Jourdan Ammons died Saturday September 30, 2023, at her home. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. The family will receive friends and extended family from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon Wednesday also at the grave site. Mrs. Ammons was born January 19, 1931 in Chester, SC and was the oldest daughter of the late John B. Jourdan and Juliette Wylie Jourdan. She attended Lewisville High school of Chester, SC and retired from Springs Industries, (Eureka Plant ). She was also dedicated to her Church (Uriel Presbyterian) and served in many areas until she was no longer able to attend church due to her health. Mrs. Ammons read and studied her bible daily while at home trying to fight the terrible battle of cancer. Margie was an excellent cook and homemaker. She loved her family and was a dedicated caregiver to several of them. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph P. Ammons, sister Lillie J. Hunter (Sammy) and her brother in law Eddie Culp and her son-in-law James McCormick. Margie is survived by her two children, Julie McCormick and John Bruce Ammons (Sandy) all of Chester, SC; 6 grandchildren Kelly McCormick (Brandi), Casey M. Brown (Ron), Matthew Ammons (Jamie) and Jessi A.Smith (Corey), great grandchildren, Lindsey Andrews(Ryan), Emma Skelton(Texas), Abby McCormick, Haylee Cooper, Collin Ammons, Riley Ammons, Haleigh Brown, and Casey Brown. Mary McCormick and Sadie McCormick, great-great grandchildren, Perrin Andrews, Claire Andrews, Marcie Andrews and her extended family, sister, Jean Morrison, brother John Frank Jourdan(Shelby), sister Judy Culp, sister Plumie Diane Jourdan all of Chester,S.C. and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to all those who have visited, sent cards, items and called.
