Margaret "Tot" Culp Kennedy

Margaret “Tot” Kennedy was born 25 November 1936 to Elbert Louis and Janie Elizabeth Garrison Culp in Lewisville, SC as the eighth of twelve kids. Tot, as she was known to everyone, was an outstanding basketball player in high school. She married James L Kennedy of Chester SC. She started a hair-dresser business and then became a real estate agent until retiring in 2004.

 She is survived by her two sons Colonel (R) James L Kennedy, Jr of Woodbridge, Va and John L Kennedy of Rock Hill, SC, and her granddaughter Jamie Ann Kennedy of Falls Church, Va. Surviving siblings are Alice Culp Abston of Columbia, Alan B Culp of Chester, Nell Roddey of Blackstock, Robert L Culp of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Helen Culp Bagby (Cummins, Ga).

Services will be 28 August 2026 at Barron Funeral home in Chester, SC on 133 Wylie St, Chester, SC. Visitation at 10:00 am, Service at 11:00 am with burial at Chester Memorial Gardens on HWY 72
