Margaret Watts Mcwaters

Richburg Mrs. Margaret Watts McWaters, 84, died Monday, February 20, 2023, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 24, at Union ARP Church with Rev. Neely Gaston officiating. Interment will follow in Union ARP Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 7:30 PM Thursday, February 23, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. McWaters was born December 12, 1938 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late John David Watts and Della Jordan Watts. She was a graduate of Lewisville High School Class of 1957. She retired from Spring Industries Elliott Plant. Margaret was the oldest active member of Union ARP Church where she previously sang in the choir and was extremely active with the nursery. She was all about investing in the lives of children and spent many hours in the schools where she enjoyed tutoring many children through some of their tough courses. She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Taylor of Rock Hill, SC; two sons, Junior McWaters (Gigi) of Rock Hill, SC and Billy McWaters of Richburg, SC; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Sam Watts of Greenwood, SC; two sisters, Della Wylie McCorkle of Richburg, SC and Joyce Hall of Lancaster, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of over 61 years, James W. McWaters, Sr.; one granddaughter, Carrie Jo McWaters; two sisters; five brothers; and a daughter-in-law, Nikki McWaters.
