Margaret Louise Lindler Simpson Wharton

CHESTER; Mrs. Margaret Louise Lindler Simpson Wharton , 88, of 909 Davis Drive died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Chester Regional Nursing Center. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 2, 2009 at First Baptist Church, Chester with Reverend Clay Waldrip officiating. Interment will be at Chester Memorial Gardens. A native of Peak, SC, raised in Blair, SC Mrs. Wharton was a daughter of the late John Lomas Lindler and Lila Mae Stoudemire Lindler. She was a graduate of Monticello High School, retired from Springs Industries as a supervisor in the sewing room and was a member of First Baptist Church of Chester, the Gleaners Sunday School Class,the Senior Adult Club and also the Leroy Springs Golden Age Club. Surviving is her daughter, Margaret Lucas of Chester, SC,three grandchildren, Christi Gettys and her husband John of Rock Hill, SC, Lee Lucas and his wife Timna of Fort Mill, SC, and Jonathan Lucas and his wife Becky of Chester, SC, four great-grandchildren, Jack, Grier, and Evan Gettys all of Rock Hill, SC and Brittany Redden of Rock Hill, SC, four sisters, Maybelle Cain and Annie Laura Graham both of Newberry, SC, Sue Grant of Greenville, SC and Martha Joe Mahaffey of Lancaster, SC and three brothers Robert, Billy, and Phillip Lindler all of Newberry, SC. Mrs. Wharton was preceded in death by two brothers, Mack Lindler and John L. Lindler, Jr. She is the widow of John Allen Simpson, Jr. and John Harris Wharton.
