Margaret Mae Allen Byars

Margaret Mae Allen Byars, 74, died Friday, May 24, 2024, at Piedmont Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Tabernacle Ministries with Pastor Ken Compton officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Chester. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Monday, May 27, 2024, at Barron Funeral Home. Mrs. Byars was born November 26, 1949 in Chester, SC and was a daughter of the late Madison Lemuel Allen and Dorothy Weaver Allen. She attended the schools of Chester, SC and Charlotte, NC. She was a homemaker with her love being her family, especially her grandchildren with whom she loved playing “Mario”. Mrs. Byars was a member of Tabernacle Ministries. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerry Lee Byars, Sr.; three children, Laurie Wilson of Chester, Jerry Lee “Joey” Byars, Jr. (Ruth Ann) of Chester and Betsy Byars Pullen (Joey) of Gastonia, NC; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, James Allen (Betty) of York, SC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Byars was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Allen; a brother, Ricky Young Allen; two nephews, Robert Dale Allen and Michael Keith Miller, Sr.; a niece, Teresa Ann Miller; and a son-in-law, Tim Wilson.
