Chester Mr. Malcolm Wylie Bailey, 92, died Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Rock Hill Post Acute Care.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Dr. Rodney Powell officiating.Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday at Wesley Memorial UMC, 1217 J.A. Cochran Bypass, Chester, SC. Mr. Bailey was born September 28, 1925 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Milton Walker Bailey and Elizabeth Grant Bailey.He attended the schools of Chester County and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Iwo Jima during World War II.He retired from Springs Industries as a supervisor after more than 48 years of service..Mr. Bailey was a founding member of Wesley Memorial UMC where he served as usher and was very active in the ministry of the church. He is survived by one son, Jimmy Wylie Bailey (Candy) of Rock Hill; three grandchildren, Amanda Bailey Turner of Columbia, Cameron Wylie Bailey (Kasie) of Rock Hill and Christopher Lyn Bailey (Fran) of Rock Hill; seven great grandchildren, Charlie, Wylie, Mary Cam, Lillie, Bess, Ben and William; and numerous nieces and nephews.Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Clarice Hill Bailey; a brother, Charles Bailey; and two sisters, Martha Brakefield and Myrtle Bailey.
