CHESTER, SC: Mr. Major Felton Levister, 82, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Chester Regional Nursing Center.The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Barron Funeral Home with David Levister officiating.The interment will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Barron Funeral Home. Born March 16, 1933 in Butler, GA, Mr. Levister was a son of the late Ira Smith Levister and Janie Boulware Levister.He attended the schools of Fairfield County, SC and was retired from Springs Industries.Mr. Levister was a member of Word & Spirit Ministries. He loved his family and enjoyed life. He is survived by two sons, David Levister and his wife Rae and Major Levister and his wife Frankie all of Chester; one step-daughter, Jane Wylie East and her husband Michael of Chester; one step-son, Banks Drennan and his wife Kathy of Richburg; six grandchildren, Daniel Levister and Matthew Levister both of Rock Hill, Jeff Varnadore, Jonathan Levister and Hannah Levister all of Chester and Phillip Levister of Florence; one brother, Bobby Levister of Chattanooga, TN and one sister Darnelia “Dossie” Berry of Rutherfordton, NC.
