ChesterMr. Major Coleman Crosby, 93, died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at his home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Fowler officiating.Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 31, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC.Mr. Crosby was born April 28, 1918 and was a son of the late Major Albert Crosby and Leila Worthy Crosby.He attended the schools of Chester County, retired from Belks Department Store, and was also employed with Robert Orrs, Inc. and Senior Services of Chester.He was a member of Westside Baptist Church.He is survived by one son, David B. Crosby and wife Sandra of Chester; two grandsons, Michael Crosby and wife Kim of Blackstock and Greg Crosby and wife Jessica of Columbus, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Crosby and Lauren Crosby both of Blackstock; two sisters, Sadie Howell and Ruth Craig both of Chester; and one brother, Bobby Crosby of Rock Hill.He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Byars Crosby and a number of brothers and sisters.Memorials may be made to Westside Baptist Church, P.O.
