Loretta Hildreth Mccarley

Loretta Hildreth McCarley, 84, died Friday May 19, 2023 at her home. A Gathering of Friends will be Monday, May 22, 2023 at Barron Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Mrs. McCarley was born in Chester, SC on February 24, 1939 and was a daughter of the late Walter Lester Hildreth and Rosie McCorkle Hildreth. She was a graduate of Chester High School and was retired from Springs Industries after over twenty-five years of service and also from Owens-Corning as a security guard. Loretta was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where she worked with the children and cub scouts. She also arranged flowers as a hobby and loved painting and building crafts. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCarley was preceded in death by three sisters, Midge Byars, Carol Johnson and Doris Stuart. She is survived by her husband of over sixty-four years, Hugh D. McCarley; two children, Steven D. McCarley (Patricia) of Chester, SC and Richard W. McCarley (Debi) of Edgemoor, SC; three grandchildren, Richard McCarley of Rock Hill, SC, Alisha Wallen (Josh) of Johnson City, TN and Erica Beasely (Gary) of Ware Shoals, SC; one great-grandson, Aiden Beasely of Ware Shoals, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
