Lorelle Butler Kee

Mildred (Lorelle) Kee, age 101, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at West Side Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Welch and Rev. Gene Gaston officiating. Interment will be private.

Mildred was born on November 9, 1923, in Buena Vista, Tennessee, to the late Reverend Neil and Lillian Butler. She was united in marriage to the late Jack Lee in 1943, and they shared 35 years together until his passing in 1978. In 1984, she married the late Wofford Kee and they were together until his passing in 1993.

A devoted servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Mildred lived her life walking by faith and extending grace to others. She was a faithful member of West Side Baptist Church and for many years went to Palmetto Village Assisted Living on Sundays to teach Sunday School.

An avid reader, she found joy in sharing books, magazines, newspapers, and gospel tracts with everyone she could.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Van Engen; grandson, Travis Lee  and her brothers, Leland Butler and Tim Butler.

She is survived by her children: Sandra James, Lillian Criscione, Joel (Jean) Lee, Neil (Lynn) Lee, and John Lee; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kee will be remembered for her generous heart, steadfast faith, and the love she gave so freely. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return.

The family expresses gratitude and appreciation to her caregivers, Barbara Compton and Debbie Cameron for their love and support.
