Lois Evelyn Holmes

Mrs. Lois Evelyn "Granny Grace" Holmes, 83, of Chester died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating.Interment will follow at Hopewell A.R.P. Cemetery. Born March 14, 1925 in Lee County, Texas, Mrs. Holmes was a daughter of the late Edward and Inez Bryant Dussetschleger.She attended school in Texas and was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Holmes was the widow of Delton Cyril Holmes. Surviving are a son, Delton Cyril Holmes, Jr. and wife Beth of Fort Walton Beach, FL; daughter, Virginia H. Shannon and husband Dr. Robert Shannon of Chester; three grandchildren, Delton Cyril Holmes and wife Lana of Memphis, TN, John Edmond Holmes of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Mary Elizabeth Shannon of Charlotte, NC; brother, Louis Dussetschleger of Lexington, TX; and sister, Darlene D. Krezer of Bay City, TX.She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Julie Holmes Shannon and a brother, Bob Dussetschleger. The family will receive friends from 10:00 ~ 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester.
