Mrs. Linda Porter Stephenson, 75, of Chester, passed peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023, with her loving husband of 57 years by her side. A Celebration of Life will be held at Barron Funeral Home in Chester on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Jimmy Dillard (ret.) officiating. The family will receive friends at Barron Funeral Home prior to the funeral from 3pm-4pm and other times at the home. Mrs. Stephenson was born July 29, 1948, in Chester, SC, and was the daughter of the late John H. and Nancy (Nannie) Robbins Porter. She attended the schools of Chester County and retired from Schlegel Corporation. Linda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, shopping, and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Henry Porter and James Porter, and sisters Elizabeth Brunet and Peggy Henderson. She is survived by her husband Francis Stephenson, three children, Keith Stephenson (Lindsey) of Fort Mill, Kevin Stephenson (Shawn) of Chester, and Melanie Dillard (James) of Spartanburg. She was blessed and proud to be a grandmother to five precious grandchildren, Jillian, Jaylin, and Graycin Dillard of Spartanburg, and Abigail and Porter Stephenson of Fort Mill. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by three sisters, Mary Jo Ivey, Patricia Enix, and Katherine Harris, all of Chester, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her close friend, Joyce Ernandez, and Eddie Railey whom she considered one of her own children. Linda loved beautiful flowers.
