Lilas Boyd Mitchuum

Georgetown Lilas Boyd Mitchum , 91,widow of Walter Barlow Mitchum, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009at her residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 15,2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Lakewood Baptist Church..Officiating will be Rev. Larry Deeter.Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will follow in Kingstree Memorial Gardens in Kingstree, S. C. She was born September 28, 1917 in Williamsburg County, the daughter of the late Charles Oscar Boyd, Sr. and the late Estelle Smith Boyd. Mrs. Mitchum was a homemaker.She was also a charter member of Lakewood Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Andrews High School in Andrews, S.C. Surviving are: two daughters, Elaine Mitchum of Georgetown and Barbara Baker and her husband James of Blackstock, S. C.; 2 grandchildren, Robert Baker and Susan Baker Roberts, both of Blackstock and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Waymon Boyd, Ernest Boyd, Buford Boyd, and C.O. Boydas well as a great grandson, Buck Mills.
