Leslie “Les” Oliver DeVatt, 38, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026. He was the beloved son of the late Leslie Howard DeVatt. Les built his life around hard work, dedication, and, above all, his deep love for his family. His greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was raising his three children, who carry forward his kindness, generosity, and determination.

Les was a passionate football fan who loved the Panthers and spent many years enjoying his fantasy football league, something he spoke about with genuine excitement. He had a special talent for finding great deals on just about anything and took great pride in what he called a “steal of a deal.” He enjoyed card games, a good bet, and being surrounded by people he cared about. He had a great love of music. You would often find him playing “DJ” and/or karaoke in any social setting he found himself in.

He worked in sales, where his natural ability and personality made him exceptionally successful. His wife, Tina, often joked that he “could sell ice to the Eskimos.” Les also had a love for collecting, and, before his passing, had begun building a sports card collector business with his son, Braxton. He was always willing to help others and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His compassion and generosity defined the way he lived.

In addition to his late father, Les was preceded in death by his son, Brantley DeVatt. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 14 years, Tina DeVatt; his three children, Savannah (17), Braxton (13), and Gabriella (7); his 4 sisters, Carrie McWatters, Shannon Canfield, Elizabeth Ferrell, Amanda Winchester, along with many aunts and uncles, and mother, Cathy Latourette.

Les will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Les’s life at a memorial service to be held at Liberty Baptist Church in Chester, South Carolina on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church. *Internment will be private.
