Chester, SC?Mr. Leon Kirkpatrick Estes, 92, of 3036 West Chester School Road, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Chester Regional Nursing Center. Funeral will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at New Hope United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Irvin Plowden and Rev. Dale Roddey.Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Estes was born September 12, 1916 in Chester County, a son of the late John Stevenson Estes and Mary Boyd Gladden Estes. He attended Chester County Schools, was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and was a retired farmer. Survivors: one sister, Susie Axson of West Columbia, SC and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM Monday at Barron Funeral Home.
